Education/Background

Welcome to 5th grade!  My name is Emily Addington and I grew up in the Northern Kentucky area where I attended St. Henry School and St. Henry District High School.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northern Kentucky University in 2005 and my Master’s Degree in multicultural literature from Xavier University in 2011. I have taught 5th grade for 20 years, 19 of those at St. Paul. Teaching and interacting with 5th graders and preparing them for middle school is an awesome challenge that I greatly enjoy!  I teach all subjects and I am also coach of the Academic Team for 4th and 5th grade.  I received the Florence Rotary Teacher of the Year award in 2024.

I met my husband while in high school and have been married for 20 years.  We have three wonderful children, Elizabeth (17) who is a senior and Ella (15) who is a sophomore at SHDHS.  Evelyn, our third child, is (13) and is an eighth grader at St. Paul.  We enjoy spending time with friends, cooking, baking, and watching food shows on TV.  We are avid readers and love learning more about history.
