Dear Second Grader,
Since I will be spending many hours with you, I would like to take a minute to tell you a few things about myself. I was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. I went to school at St. Joseph Crescent Springs, high school at Notre Dame Academy and college at Xavier University. I have a younger brother and sister. Some of my favorite things to do are watch Xavier basketball, bake treats and read books. I hope you had an adventurous summer! I can’t wait to hear all about it. I hope you are as excited about being in second grade as I am about being your teacher.
I am excited about this coming year working with you and your child. This is my seventeenth year teaching at Saint Paul. I have taught 2 years in first grade and the rest in second grade. I have a degree from Xavier University in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree also from Xavier University, in Multicultural Literature.
There are many things planned for this year, including the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. I will keep you informed through a weekly newsletter about upcoming events and skills we will learn each week. You are the most important person in your child’s life. We need to work together for the success of your child. I would like you to support my academic, discipline, and homework policies here at school. In return, I will keep you updated on your child’s progress. With us working together, I know that your child will have a very successful school experience. I am looking forward to a fantastic year.
